We will have 2 casts (junior and senior).
       
  Preparation:   Prepare a 1 minute song.
Bring sheet music in the appropriate key or a CD.
An accompanist will be provided.

There are need-based scholarships available. Applicants for scholarships must meet strict financial/income guidelines.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Albert Peterson – President of Almaelou Music Corp and Conrad Birdie’s agent. Overwrought by his obligations to Conrad, his promises to Rose and his Mother. Strong singer, must move well. Range: Bb – Gb

Rose Alvarez
– Albert’s secretary and girlfriend. She wants Albert to give up the music business and become an English Teacher like he once promised. Her Spanish heritage is a source of frustration for Albert’s mother. Must sing and dance very well. Range: Gb – C

Kim Macafee
– Beautiful young girl next door. Anxious to grow up and be a mature woman. Strong singer who moves well. Range: G – Ab

Conrad Birdie
– Elvis-esque teen heart throb. Self-centered and pampered. Must sing and dance very well. Range Ab – Gb

Harry Macafee
– Kim and Randolph’s father. Wishes kids were more like they were when he was young. Range: C – E

Doris Macafee
– Kim and Randolph’s mother. Happy homemaker who can’t help but get caught up in the excitement of having a rock star in the house. Range: Bb – F.

Randolph Macafee
– Kim's younger brother. Always trying to please his father. Range: D – D.

Hugo Peabody
– Kim’s boyfriend. Very jealous of Conrad Birdie.

Ursula Merkle
– Kim’s best friend and fellow Conrad Birdie fan. Hyper-enthusiastic.

Mae Peterson
– Albert’s overbearing mother. Masterfully uses guilt and manipulation to keep her only son tethered to her. Range: F – D.

Ensemble
– Various other parents, townspeople, teens and children. There are many smaller speaking and singing roles to be filled by members of the ensemble. These include the High School nerd, a tap dancing secretary, a barber shop quartet and more.
